Deepal Heads to the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Launching the S07 PHEV in Europe

Changan brings the Deepal S07 PHEV, S05 PHEV and NEVO Q05 to the 2026 Mondial de l'Auto in Paris, reinforcing its European expansion and diverse powertrain technology

Deepal Heads to the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Launching the S07 PHEV in Europe

Changan Automobile brought a line-up of new energy vehicles to the Mondial de l'Auto 2026 , also known as the Paris Motor Show, on 13 October 2026, where the Deepal brand drew attention by presenting the Deepal S07 PHEV which is set to go on sale in Europe after the show, alongside the Deepal S05 PHEV and the NEVO Q05, both making their European debut. This move shows that a brand familiar to Thai drivers is gaining acceptance in one of the world's most demanding markets.

Models on display

  • Deepal S07 PHEV A mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV with an all-electric range of around 100 km (WLTP)
  • Deepal S05 PHEV which is already on sale in continental Europe, with a right-hand-drive version set to launch in the UK
  • NEVO Q05 A compact all-electric SUV with a maximum range of around 450 km (WLTP) and 30–80% fast charging in around 15 minutes under optimal conditions
  • Several more concepts and new models from the AVATR brand

Changan says both Deepal plug-in hybrids have a combined range of more than 1,000 km using electric power and fuel together

Why Europe matters for the brand's image

The European market has strict safety, emissions and data-protection requirements. The fact that Deepal already sells the S05 BEV, S05 PHEV and S07 BEV there, and is now adding the S07 PHEV, is testament to its world-class engineering quality. The Deepal S05 also earned a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating in 2025 testing, further boosting confidence among drivers worldwide.

Of particular interest to Thai buyers, the first batch of Deepal S05s exported to Europe in late 2025 was built at Changan's plant in Rayong, which means Thai production standards have been accepted by a demanding export market.

Key technologies presented by Changan

At the show, Changan also presented core technologies shared across many models: the BlueCore powertrain system covering hybrid, plug-in hybrid and range-extended (REEV) systems; the Golden Shield battery, which the company says retains more than 90% of its energy at -10°C; and the SDA intelligent platform covering driver assistance, cabin and chassis. Changan says these technologies will be rolled out to customers outside China progressively, subject to local regulatory approval.

What this means for Thai drivers

In Thailand, Deepal already offers the S05 in both fully electric and range-extended (REEV) versions. The brand's investment in multiple powertrains for global markets means more choice in the future and a larger global user base, which benefits software development, parts and long-term vehicle value. Whether any PHEV model will come to Thailand remains to be officially announced by Changan Thailand.
